From the very first trip to Nepal in 1985, the Thompsons recognized a need for improving the local food supply. New and improved seeds and crops have been introduced to transform the way a community grows, eats, and sells food.

The outcome has been remarkable. Those that grow more than their family needs, have the opportunity to sell their produce and increase their family income.

Preventative care and disease management for animals as well as the introduction of artificial breeding has improved both the quantity and quality of milk and meat production. This has improved human health and nutrition, especially in children, and has provided another income generating opportunity for the villagers to sell their extra milk, meat and improved dairy goat offspring to others.
